I know it's not wrong to think your kids are cute. But is it wrong to say out loud that you think they are really cute? Is it? June recently got mistaken for a baby Lucinda (her Aunt) and I couldn't have been more excited, because let me tell you...she has some pretty aunts. We'll take those Johnson genes.

It seems I am infinitely behind on blogging. In short, my kids are getting cuter...and naughtier, really they are. And I am getting older.

One year ago yesterday, the happiest, fattest, sweetest baby ever made, came into our family. He makes me unhinged with happiness and we couldn't imagine our lives without him. Don't you just want to spread him on a cracker and eat him up.... I do. Happy Birthday little Double Scoop!

We had the best Halloween ever! June was an aviatrix (nice word, huh) and Milo was a muscle man and a duck. Trying to draw a mustache on Milo was ridiculously hard, but try and imagine a nice handlebar on the kid. June has been fascinated with airplanes and helicopters for awhile now so we got her a book about Amelia Earhart. She loves it and she thinks Amelia is flying every plane she sees and she waves at her...hence the costume.

We recently had our pictures taken by our friend Ashley Thalman. I think she did an awesome job.

I love the last photo because I think Grandma's house looks so cozy. I wish her little head was in the window doing dishes, like the old days.

This post is a bit delayed due to the fact that everyone has horrible colds. Poor June was sick on her birthday! Anyway, as legend says, two years ago yesterday this beautiful, intelligent and precocious girl was born and our lives have never been the same. We like her so much we can't even stand it.

june's birthday & milo's blessing

This Sunday we celebrated June's 2nd birthday and blessed Milo. The weather was perfect and we managed to have our whole family there minus the two families that live out of state. I ran around like a crazy person because throwing a party for 45 people isn't exactly my forte, but other than that, everything was perfect.

The next two are my favorites.

Milo flirting with a leaf. He's not picky, he'll flirt with anything.

Luke has just blown out June's candles and he is getting in trouble. I love this!

Today we are loving Franny's Friends by Cataruba Kruusval. Too bad most of her books are in Swedish. Our favorite part is when Itty Bitty Kitty gets sat on and doesn't get a bun. Poor kitty.

Mother's Day was awesome. I ate lots of food, saw almost everybody on both sides of the family and I especially enjoyed this:

Strawberry Rhubarb Cobbler

1/2 - 3/4 cup white sugar
3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
3 1/2 cups sliced fresh strawberries
3 1/2 cups diced rhubarb
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup butter
1 cup rolled oats

Directions

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
In a large bowl, mix white sugar, 3 tablespoons flour, strawberries, and rhubarb. Place the mixture in a 9x13 inch baking dish.
Mix 1 1/2 cups flour, brown sugar, butter, and oats until crumbly. You may want to use a pastry blender for this. Crumble on top of the rhubarb and strawberry mixture.
Bake 45 minutes in the preheated oven, or until crisp and lightly browned.

Blake put these photos on the computer Sunday morning. I like those kids.
